We are looking to add another team member to our Foundation Department! The Donor Relations Officer will organize, manage and execute fundraising activities focused on generating low- and mid–level charitable support for VHC Health and its affiliates. Duties include providing essential back-up support for Foundation staff to ensure donor and gift processing is updated and maintained according to Foundation procedures as well as providing general support for Foundation-led projects, activities and initiatives.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a Related Field preferred.
- Two years of experience in Healthcare Fundraising and writing preferred.
- Experience in the grant application process: research, writing and impact reports preferred.
Responsibilities
- Identify, cultivate and solicit prospects for low- and mid–level charitable contributions in support of Virginia Hospital Center and its affiliates including the maintenance and management of an active portfolio of donor prospects.
- Build relationships with current and prospective low- and mid-level donors that result in new, recurring or increased giving, and be willing to make verbal and written proposals to donors for gifts.
- Respond to donor inquiries and requests in accordance with Foundation and Hospital procedures.
- Provide research on potential individuals and grant-making foundations/organizations; facilitate the creation of briefing materials and other supporting materials to secure a gift.
- Be knowledgeable on the vision and key programs of Virginia Hospital Center and its affiliates and be able to articulate them clearly to potential donors.
- Maintain and track all current and prospective donor moves in the Raiser's Edge database.
- Manage a portfolio of low- to mid-level donors successfully through the donor pipeline from identification to stewardship/cultivation.
- Provide regular updates to Foundation senior leadership.
- Keep abreast of changes in the funding community and laws that my affect fundraising activities; participate as appropriate in professional development activities to ensure the Foundation is abiding by best practices and tactics.
- Participate and provide support as needed for Foundation projects and initiatives such as cultivation and stewardship events for donors, awareness building activities in the community and within the Hospital, and other outreach activities to promote philanthropy.
- Work in conjunction with other Foundation staff to support and/or manage additional fundraising activities to support the overall mission of the Hospital and achieve departmental goals.
