Position: Join a dynamic, fun, Christ-centered team to help lead our ministry for children birth to 5th grade
Schedule: This position is planned for a 28 hour work week with a flexible schedule.
Qualities: Ideal candidate has a heart for children, forms meaningful relationships with people of various ages, self-starter, empowering leader, understands child development and needs, team-player, organized, effective communicator, and fun.
Qualifications: Children’s ministry experience preferred, however will consider comparable experience in child and family development. Minimum of bachelor’s degree preferred but will consider commensurate experience. This is a nonordained position.
Accountability: Serves as staff liaison with Children’s Ministry Commission. Relates directly to the Senior Pastor/Head of Staff and Personnel Commission for support and accountability.

Responsibilities: Every candidate will bring a unique mix of gifts and passions that will shape the particulars of this position. That notwithstanding, the responsibilities of this position include at least the following:
Children’s and Family Ministry
- Work with Children’s Commission to define vision and direction, and to set appropriate strategic goals.
- Collaborate with the Children’s Commission to develop and implement appropriate opportunities for children that align with ministry priorities, vision, and direction. Current ministry opportunities include:
o Church School
o Family Small Groups
o Monthly Kid’s Ministry Night
o Monthly Family Ministry Night
o Vacation Bible School
o Parent’s Night Out
o Family Fun Nights
- Collaborate with Next Generation Student Ministry on:
o Family Worship Nights
o Family Social events
o Transition from Children’s to Youth ministries.
- Recruit, empower and train leaders for children’s and family ministry.
- Communicate effectively with families, staff, leaders, congregation, and community about opportunities to serve and/or participate.
- Collaborate with Youth and Adult Discipleship Commissions to explore and develop ways to partner with and resource parents in their own discipleship and discipleship of their children.
- Partner with pastors and Children’s Commission to design and implement annual Disciple’s Communion experience to help children prepare to receive Communion.
- Work with Children’s Commission to determine appropriate curricula.
- Seek opportunities to make connections with Westminster Nursery School staff, students and families.
- Along with pastors, provide care and support to children and families in times of need.
- Coordinate the budget for Children’s Ministries with commission oversight.
- Other duties as necessary or assigned by Head of Staff
Duration: This is an at-will position, both PCTR and the candidate have the right to terminate the relationship at any time.

Pay: From $36,000.00 per year
