Premier Midwest Private Club looking for a full-time Short Order Cook
Sycamore Hills Golf Club is looking for a Short Order Cook to help transform and elevate our culinary program. This is a wonderful opportunity to work for and learn from one of the most highly regarded Chefs in the state of Indiana, while working at what many consider the premier private golf club in the mid-west.
Requirements:
- Complete opening and closing checklists.
- Refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties.
- Prepares a variety of cold and hot menu items from the menu.
- Understands and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, walls.
- Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen pantry. Assists others in closing the kitchen.
- Presents themselves to the membership in a clean and professional manner.
- Promptly reports equipment and food quality problems to Executive Chef or Executive Sous-Chef.
- Inform Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef immediately of product shortages.
- Handle cash and work with a register.
Starting Wage - $14.00 - $15.50 per hour - depending on experience.
Potential candidates must pass a background check (no felonies) and must pass a standard drug panel test, with the exception for marijuana – which will not be used as a determining factor for employment.
From January 1st to March 15th, the Club is only open four and a half days out of the week. Throughout the golf season, the Club is open 6 days a week.
Fort Wayne Indiana (very low cost of living) is located two hours from Indianapolis, three hours from Cleveland, and three hours from Chicago.
