DCI Job Requirement for:
Puppet Enterprise Engineer
Location: Remote
Job Description:
Serve as a Puppet SME for automated infrastructure solutions for our clients
Utilize Puppet Enterprise to:
- Streamline operations
- Ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of IT systems
Design, implement, and manage the Puppet Enterprise infrastructure:
- Automate configuration management across our IT environment
Automate configuration management, application deployment, and service orchestration
Develop and maintain Puppet code and modules for automating system configurations
Ensure consistency and compliance with established standards
Collaborate with development and operations teams to:
- Integrate automation workflows
- Facilitate continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes
Perform system updates, patches, and configuration changes
- Automate these processes wherever possible to minimize manual interventions
Monitor the performance of the Puppet infrastructure
- Identify and resolve issues to ensure high availability and optimal operation
Document configurations and best practices for automating infrastructure with Puppet
Provide training and support to team members on Puppet Enterprise
Stay current with emerging technologies and advancements in Puppet Enterprise
Incorporate new tools and techniques to enhance our automation capabilities
Qualifications:
BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related
Proficiency in Puppet Enterprise and its ecosystem, including:
- Development of Puppet modules and manifests
Configuration management principles and infrastructure as code (IaC) methodologies exp.
Experience with scripting languages such as:
- Ruby, Python, or Bash for automation tasks
Familiarity with version control systems to manage and track changes in Puppet code
Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices and tools
Understanding of Linux/Unix and Windows server environments
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (preferred)
Proven experience as a Puppet Enterprise Engineer or in a similar role
- Focused on IT automation and configuration management
Experience with automation projects using Puppet and related technologies
Puppet Enterprise Certified or ability to obtain certification
Security Industry Certification (DoD 8500 – IAT Level II)
REQUIRED: Secret Security Clearance (TS/SCI preferred)
