Position: Scientist, Bioanalysis
Location: 65 Grove Street, Suite 302,Watertown, MA 02472
Full time contract - 40 hours per week
6 months to start.
Position Summary:
The individual will be part of Research focused on discovering novel treatments for ocular and neurologic diseases by targeting the complement cascade. The primary responsibility of this lab-based position is to support the bioanalytical throughput and execution of in vitro and ex vivo pharmacokinetic and pharmacology oligonucleotide studies, utilizing quantitative LC-MS/MS assays and/or ligand binding assays. This includes, but is not limited to, sample preparation from various tissues, instrument maintenance, method optimization, sample management and downstream analysis. The role will require interactive, effective communication to provide clear data and bioanalytical strategy guidance to innovation project team representatives. The individual should have a passion and a strong track record in discovery research bioanalysis.
Key Responsibilities:
· Exhibit a strong foundation in critical thinking and bioanalysis by independently implementing a variety of analytical methods for various modalities in support of project teams- with a primary focus on liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry and Meso Scale Diagnostic assay platforms.
· Be adaptive and timely in working on various bioanalytical challenges presented by complex modalities, demonstrating a firm foundation in instrumentation troubleshooting and assays focused on bioanalytical sample preparation and quantification.
· Ensure proper documentation and reporting, assisting in the drafting of bioanalytical reports, as needed.
· Participate in shared lab duties (such as reagent preparation/ordering, sample shipping/receiving etc)
Experience, Skills & Knowledge:
- BA with minimum 4 years, MS with 2+ years of bench research experience in biopharmaceutical industry is required.
- Experience in handling samples from in vivo and in vitro studies is a must.
- Experience in mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography is a must.
- Experience with MSD and other ligand binding techniques highly preferred.
- Experience with DNA/RNA extraction techniques and RT-qPCR is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle fast-paced environment is essential.
- Ability to present data to a broad range of audiences in a credible and engaging manner.
- High level of independence with superior written and oral communication skills, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Highly motivated with the ability to be flexible and react with a sense urgency, as needed.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour
