Job Title: Cook
Cook's Essential Function:
1. Supervises kitchen staff in preparation of meals and cleaning equipment.
2. Prepares food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu.
3. Prepares food using proper food handling and food safety techniques according to established policies and regulations.
4. Follow standardized recipes in preparation of foods for regular and therapeutic diets.
5. Ensure proper quantities of foods are prepared.
6. Make only authorized substitutions to the planned menu and records the substitution according to established policy.
7. Ensures that food is prepared in accordance with the established meal time schedules.
8. Ensures that food is served in an attractive, appetizing manner.
9. Assists in receiving, storing and verifying invoices for incoming food, supplies, ect. As indicated by the CDM.
10. Ensures foods are labeled and dated and stores according to the established policies.
11. Mentors staff in policy/Procedure
12. Attends all Mandatory Inservice Trainings.
13. All other duties as assigned.
