Job description
We are looking for a prudent property maintenance professional to be responsible for the direct oversight of assigned multiple properties throughout the North County, NY area. The primary responsibilities of the Maintenance Manager are to perform and lead a team to complete routine maintenance and repair to the grounds, structures, equipment, and related utilities. The maintenance person will promote and exhibit leadership, support, direction, and an emphasis on quality.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of assigned properties
- Weekly checks on all Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC systems for preventative maintenance
- Manage all solutions to maintenance issues as well as improvement projects at the properties
- Perform and oversee various landscaping duties including but not limited to tree maintenance, building retaining walls and tent pads, repairing fencing, improving drainages, weed maintenance, etc.
- Skilled in the use of commercial hand and power tools such as saws, lawnmowers, shovels, and blowers, and on occasion operate ride-on mowers, trucks (w plow), heavy machinery, and tractors.
- Collect receivable accounts and handle operating expenses
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed, prioritize maintenance projects, identify problem areas, implement solutions, and assure projects meet goals and standards
- Compile a list of necessary maintenance tools and equipment item purchases, analyze budgetary needs for the campgrounds and make recommendations
- Supervision
- Assist with hiring, training, and motivating maintenance staff; work with staff to correct deficiencies and recognize performance
- Create and manage work schedules for maintenance personnel based on department guidelines and needs
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local agencies, including labor laws
- Perform all duties in a safe and professional manner in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures
- Identify potential safety hazards on the properties and remedy them immediately upon recognition
Education & Experience:
- Required: High School diploma or GED, Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree
- A minimum of three years experience in property and/or campground maintenance, or a related field with at least two years experience in supervising employees
- Prior experience with landscaping work, plumbing, electrical, construction, light, and heavy machinery
- Valid Drivers license (NYS)
