Foster LLP, one of the nation’s largest immigration law firms, seeks a candidate for the position of Human Resource Coordinator in our Houston, TX office. The Human Resource Coordinator will perform the functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including coordinating and administering human resource support while enforcing company policies and practices, and assist in administering time and attendance, coordinating benefits, and leave.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in interpreting policies and procedures, and helping resolve work-related issues.
- Instrumental in fostering a healthy work culture and positive work environment.
- Assist in the recruiting, onboarding and offboarding process.
- Coordinate new employee onboarding and orientation to foster positive attitude toward and adherence to organizational objectives.
- Assist in planning and coordinating firm-wide training to develop employees and ensure compliance with state and federal training requirements (i.e., harassment, workplace safety, etc.)
- Assist in planning and coordinating firm-wide meetings and events.
- Assist in administering benefits, and performance evaluation system, as needed.
- Assist, in processing firm-wide reports; Track and update time and attendance.
- Assist in overseeing FMLA and other employee leave, and time and attendance issues to promote compliance and uniform practices.
- Prepare firm communication on various issues, including those related to company policies and practices and introduction of newly hired employees.
- Assist with other related tasks as assigned
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required.
- Two years’ experience, preferably in a law firm or corporate environment.

- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn HRIS and talent management systems.
- Ability to operate successfully in complex situations by applying critical thinking, strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
