Our family owned and operated long term care facilitator is seeking a compassionate and well versed Director of Nursing for consideration to lead a midsize facility situated in Northern Colorado, amongst Larimer County. This building is home to a diverse group of long-term residents, cared for by seasoned staff with low staffing ratios, who are stewarded by a well-equipped clinical team and Administrator with years of experience in the geriatric field.
The ideal candidate would possess the capacity to lead the clinical management team, nurses and cnas, communicate well with residents, family members, practitioners and community partners, extend excellent customer service to whomever crosses your path; ultimately ensuring the best clinical, cultural and operational outcomes are occur. The ideal candidate will be a RN, licensed in the state of Colorado or compact state, possess 2 years of management in a long term care setting, excellent communication and organization skills, and the ability to adapt to the needs of the facility. Position Description
Responsible for the administration and management of Nursing Services to residents in accordance with orders of the physicians and total needs of the residents. Responsible for 24-hour supervision of Nursing Services and directs the Nursing Department to maintain quality standards of care in accordance with current Federal, State and The Company standards, guidelines and regulations. In absence of the Administrator, assumes the responsibility for center operations. The position conducts the nursing process – assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation – under the scope of the State’s Nurse Practice Act of Registered Nurse licensure.
Principal Responsibilities
- Assumes ultimate responsibility for coordinating plans for the total care of each resident which comply with physician’s orders, governmental regulations and facility resident care policies and special program implementation.
- Communicates and interprets policies and procedures to nursing staff, and monitors staff practices and implementation.
- Participates in all admissions decisions and may visit prospective residents before admissions.
- Participates in daily and weekly management team meetings to discuss resident status, census changes, personnel, or resident complaints or concerns.

- Call rotation and shift work may occur
Qualifications
- Currently licensed as RN in the state practiced.
- Valid BLS accredited certification required
- Associate or Bachelor Degree from an accredited nursing school required.
- Five years in long-term or acute health care preferred; At least 2 years nursing supervisory experience required.
- Vaccination acceptance or participation in needed waiver for vaccination as dictated by state, are required
