Long Island Care Center has an opportunity for an experienced Full-time Cook to join their team
The cook is responsible for prepping and preparing food for residents and staff.
Nursing Home experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

Handles and prepares food in accordance with federal, state and local sanitary regulations.

Prepares nutritionally appropriate and appetizing meals, including modified consistency and therapeutic diets, as directed by Food Service Director and/or Supervisor.

Properly cares for dietary equipment.

Follows menus and special diet instructions.

Takes food temperatures per policy and ensures food items are prepared, cooled and stored in adherence to corporate, local, state and federal guidelines.

Other Duties as assigned by the Director or Supervisor.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Must have general cooking knowledge
-
2 years of cooking experience
-
Experience in a healthcare setting helpful

Must be able to follow production sheets and standardized recipes
