Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Human Resources Manager to join the Lighting Sector Focal Point Team in Chicago,IL. The Sr. HR Manager plays a pivotal role as a strategic partner across the organization, with a specialized focus in Manufacturing. The Sr. HR Manager acts as a leadership coach, strategic partner, and change agent partnering with management and HR to improve working relationships by build engagement and increasing productivity. This multifaceted role involves providing expert input into a wide array of HR policy development, implementing capacity-building initiatives, and overseeing complex enterprise-level HR projects and initiatives. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Human Resources, with three direct reports, this position holds a pivotal role in driving organizational excellence and fostering a positive work culture.
What Will You Do?
Employee Attraction and Retention:
- Manage recruiting strategies to attract and retain talent for office and manufacturing roles.
- Work with your HR Team and production management to ensure effective on-boarding and training strategies to maximize performance, improve engagement and comply with ISO standards.
Employee Relations, HR Programs and Compliance:
- Manage employee relations programs across the business. Proactively work with managers to identify opportunities for improving employee relations activities that support business priorities.
- Provide effective support to management in coaching, motivating, and counseling employees.
- Leverage HR data to inform and influence key decisions, process improvements, and policy changes.
- Stay abreast of HR legislation and trends to ensure best practices and compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws. Lead necessary changes to ensure compliance.
- Ensure compliance with Legrand Charters and Policies.
Employee Engagement:
- Partner with leaders to lead cultural initiatives and changes for the site, staying highly in-touch with employees and the organization, influencing improvements in culture engagement.
- Develop thoughtful, integrated approaches to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization and all facets of talent attraction, development, and retention.
- Responsible for providing and maintaining extraordinary levels of service through a high level of influence, execution, and prioritizing of duties.
- Analyze data, recommend and support action plans resulting from engagement surveys.
Performance/Talent Management & Strategic workforce Planning:
- Analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and priorities, particularly in the areas of performance management, talent development, and workforce planning.
- Lead strategic compensation analysis for all Manufacturing employees and make recommendations as needed. Develop and implement a pay for performance process across the Operations Team.
- Analyze operation staffing Levels – offering recommendations for improvements to Operations Senior Leaders to build a talent inventory, forecast the internal and external supply of labor, and approach succession planning.
- Assist HR Leadership with the implementation of organizational learning and development solutions.
- Perform other duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Required Skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or equivalent experience. Human Resources certification preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience with considerable experience in a manufacturing environment (supporting >300 people preferred).
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing a variety of human capital strategies in support of business objectives and goals.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to balance business partnering skills with employee advocacy.
- Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws and regulations as it pertains to employment related matters.
- Experience leading others, with a track record of effectively mentoring and developing employees.
- Proven experience in leading multiple projects with strong prioritization skills.
