Job Description: Electronics and Mechanical Assembly Technician
- Build instruments, assemblies, and sub-assemblies with minimal guidance, following instructions.
- Perform final instrument checkout for all types of Hokanson electronic instruments.
- Use multi-meters, oscilloscopes and similar electronic test equipment as well as multiple types of hand tools.
- Document all tests and rework performed on repaired instruments.
- Stuff through-hole components on PCBs, then process them through our dip-solder pot. Hand solder sensitive electronic components.
- Fabricate, assemble and test medical transducers.
- Make pour molded temperature cured plastic parts.
- Machine parts on metal lathe and milling machine.
- Perform general maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Prepare instruments for customer orders. Pack complete orders for shipment to customers.
- Communicate production batch issues related to parts to Production Planner.
- Communicate material needs to Purchaser.
- Print and verify UDI (barcode) labels for new products.
- Perform job duties in compliance with Hokanson Quality Management System (ISO 13485 and FDA CFR 820 compliant).
Skills & Requirements
- Perform quality work with consistency while following documentation and quality procedures is absolutely essential.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity are important.
- Ability to identify electronic components and values.
- Ability to inspect and test to specifications and record results.
- Experience using electronic testing equipment such as multi-meters and oscilloscopes.
- Able to use all manners of manual assembly tools and possess a knowledge of the basic operation of power tools like drill press, grinder and sander.
- Experience working in a regulated production environment, preferably directly with electronic instruments.
- Good verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel desirable.
- Ability to work independently and be a team player.
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds on a daily basis.
