Key Responsibilities:
The Parts Room team member is responsible for all duties listed, but not limited to:
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, including incoming and outgoing parts, using appropriate inventory management software or systems.
- Receiving and Inspecting: Receive incoming shipments of parts and supplies, verify contents against purchase orders, and inspect items for damage or defects.
- Stocking and Organizing: Organize parts and supplies within the parts room, ensuring they are stored in a logical and accessible manner. This may involve labeling shelves, bins, or containers.
- Issuing Parts: Fulfill requests for parts or supplies from internal departments or personnel, ensuring that the correct items are issued and properly documented.
- Monitoring Stock Levels: Regularly monitor stock levels of frequently used parts and supplies, and reorder as necessary to maintain adequate inventory levels without overstocking.
- Data Entry and Documentation: Accurately record all transactions related to inventory movements, including receipts, issuances, returns, and adjustments.
- Maintaining Records: Keep detailed records of inventory transactions, and inventory count reports.
- Inventory Audits: Conduct periodic audits or physical counts of inventory to verify accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies regarding the handling, storage, and disposal of materials or components.
- Assisting with Maintenance: Assist maintenance personnel by locating and issuing required parts or tools, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Troubleshooting: Assist in identifying and resolving any issues related to inventory discrepancies, stockouts, or damaged items.
- Training and Support: Provide training and guidance to other team members on proper procedures for requesting, issuing, and returning parts.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in inventory management and suggest solutions to streamline operations and reduce costs.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to internal departments or personnel by responding promptly to requests for parts or supplies and addressing any concerns or issues effectively.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3+ years experience maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, including shelving, bins, and storage areas for efficient part retrieval.
- Experience conducting cycle counts and participating in periodic inventory audits to verify stock accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Proven ability to accurately pick and pack parts according to orders, ensuring completeness and timeliness of shipments.
- Proficiency in recording inventory transactions accurately using warehouse management software or other inventory tracking systems.
- Previous experience providing support to internal departments and/or external customers regarding parts inquiries, availability and order status updates.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members.

- Safety Awareness: Adherence to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication with team members and supervisors regarding inventory status, order fulfillment, and any discrepancies.
- Problem-solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot issues related to inventory discrepancies, order errors, or equipment malfunctions.
- Physical Stamina: Capability to lift and move parts safely and repeatedly throughout the workday.
- Computer Skills: Familiarity with inventory management software or the ability to quickly learn such systems for tracking and updating inventory records.
- Customer Service: Providing courteous and helpful service to internal customers who may have inquiries or require assistance with parts orders.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to handle changing priorities and tasks in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
