NYC firm is seeking a Mid-Level Trusts and Estates associate with 3 to 5 years’ experience in Estate Planning and Trust and Estate Administration for high-net-worth clients to join our growing Trusts and Estates practice.
Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000

Qualifications:
· Attorney licensed to practice law in the State of New York and in good standing.
· Strong knowledge of Federal and New York estate tax laws.
· Experience drafting wills, trusts, advance directives, ILITs and SLATs.
· Prior exposure and understanding of Credit Shelter Trusts and QTIP trusts.
· Experience preparing probate and administration petitions and knowledge of surrogate court procedures and rules.
· Experience in estate administration including marshalling assets, accountings and funding trusts.
· Strong attention to detail with ability to manage several matters in a fast-paced work environment.
· Experience working directly with clients and cultivating relationships.
· Ability to learn quickly and work independently once given a task.
· Experience preparing Federal 706 and NY ET-706 returns a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities
· The associate will be working and communicating directly with clients.
· Expected to independently draft estate planning documents including wills, trusts, advance directives, ILITs and SLATs, among others.
· Collaborate well with a small team and report work status to partner.
· Stay up to date on current laws and developments in trusts and estates law and tax legislation.
· Assist and/or oversee paralegals with probate proceedings and estate and trust administration.
· Conduct legal research to support client matters and issues.
· Respond to clients in a timely manner.
· Manage several clients and matters at a time.
· Demonstrate a proactive approach in tackling challenges, displaying a willingness to take initiative and seek out solutions independently.
· Exhibit a positive attitude towards learning and adapting to new tasks and areas of T&E law
