About the Role
We are seeking Medical Assistants to join team Bronson! This individual should be skilled in verbal and written communication, date entry and computer skills with EMR experience, and working with diverse populations and care methods.
In this role, the Medical Assistant works under provider’s direction and provides general nursing functions for the practice. This includes, records vital signs, immunizations, provides initial patient assessment, obtains concise patient history, and provides various clinical information and support to providers. The MA processes and posts information to patient’s chart, educates patients and families regarding medications, treatments and care, and referrals.
Qualifications:
· Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred; otherwise, eligibility requirements to take the CMA or RMA required. Previous clinical experience preferred.
· Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or CCMA) or Registration (RMA) required within 6 months of hire.
· BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Responsibilities:
· Prepare patients for their provider visit. This includes completing patient assessment, histories, vital signs, medication reconciliation, and routine testing of hearing, vision or other.
· Document pertinent information in their medical record.
· Obtain specimens for urine testing, phlebotomy, etc.
· Set up for and assist with treatment or procedures, as requested by a physician.
· Perform laboratory tests, as directed by a physician.
· Schedule outside tests or procedures for patients in other departments of facilities such as x-ray, MRI, etc.
