We are looking for a responsible person to help take care of our animals and keep our home as clean as possible while we are away which is roughly 8-10 times per year. Someone that is able to work from home would be AMAZING! Sometimes we may only be gone on a short vacation while other times it may be up to two weeks. We have eight indoor animals which include: four dogs (one Boston Terrier, one Frenchie, one Schnauzer mix & one Chihuahua mix breed); three cats and one "mini"-pig (she currently weighs around 160lbs). With so many animals in the house it requires a great deal of cleaning…vacuuming, wiping up pee/puke, cleaning up occasional poop, sweeping, etc. If you are not willing to keep the house clean this is not for you.
Ideally we would like to find someone that is able to be at our home often with them as two of the the dogs have to be crated. We have a backyard that we let them out in multiple times a day to play and go potty. We would prefer whomever to spend the night but if not able to then we would like someone that can stay late with them and then come back early the next morning. They are not used to being crated more than 7-8 hours at night and no more than 3-4 hours at a time during the day.
Two cats mostly stay upstairs while the third likes to come downstairs and also go out on the back deck. The cats are fed in the morning and their cat litter boxes scooped and pee pads changed twice a day.
The dogs are fed in the morning and in the evening. The pig is on the same feeding schedule as the dogs. The dogs eat freely while the pig must be on the deck while eating (otherwise she will eat the dogs food which is very bad for her health)
The dogs/pig must be let out several times a day- typically once every hour or so. Otherwise, a mess most likely will happen.
The Boston Terrier (Hank) and our pig Gwinny are the only two animals that can be a little snappy (this is usually only at first meeting and around any strangers). We would request you not have any friends or family over at our home just incase - we will make 100% sure Hank and Gwinny are fond of you before leaving out.
Our house has cameras on the front and back porches for security purposes as well as in the kitchen/living room areas to keep an eye on the animals when we are away. Many of our lamps and overhead lighting is run by Philips Hue through Alexa (controlled by voice). We have high speed Wi-Fi and many streaming apps available on all TV's.
Gerard's younger brother (Jacob) lives in our home with us as well. He (and sometimes his girlfriend) will be there off and on every day but is unable to take care of the animals most days due to being gone long hours for work.
If interested, we would like for you to respond to this ad and give us some information about yourself. If we think you may be a good fit we will reach out to you to schedule a time for you to come by and meet us and our animals.
