Job Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated mentors to provide essential support and assistance to and individual in his home temporarily for weekends during the month of July and Aug. As a mentor, you will play a vital role in improving the quality of life for our client by offering personalized care and ensuring their comfort and well-being. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on someone's life.
Duties:
- Provide direct care and support to the individual you are working with,
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary needs and restrictions
- Monitor individual and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel
- Engage in companionship activities and provide emotional support
- Follow care plans and instructions provided
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
Requirements:
- Previous experience in mentoring/peer support/caregiving or related fields is preferred but not required
- Previous experience working with individuals with cerebral palsy or other developmental disabilities preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
- Compassionate and patient nature, with a genuine desire to help others
- Ability to adapt to different client needs and provide personalized care
- Reliable transportation to travel to and from job
