Title: Crisis Peer Support Specialist
Work Location: 502 Farrell Drive, Covington, KY
Supervisor: Team Lead Behavioral Health Crisis Services
Responsibilities and Duties
· Uses experiences with personal recovery in assisting and supporting clients to take responsibility and actively participate in their own recovery; Serves as a mentor to clients to promote hope and empowerment.
· Provides peer interventions to clients regarding, but not limited to, symptoms of mental illness, coping skills, the effects and side-effects of medications, and relapse prevention.
· Participates in the ongoing assessment and therapeutic engagement of clients.
· Works with clients and staff in developing and implementing person-centered individual treatment plans.
· Assists in the teaching of daily living skills; this includes teaching and assistance in medically necessary services such as grocery shopping, maintaining clean housing, utilizing public transportation, maintaining self-care, and exploring employment opportunities.
· Transports and/or accompanies clients to appointments which connect them to community resources and services.
· Maintains compliance with all applicable practice standards and guidelines; completes all required documentation in a timely manner consistent with agency guidelines.
· Maintains client confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA requirements at all times.
· Assist participants individually and in groups on the NorthKey Community Care treatment team.
· Lead and co-lead assigned groups to provide support to participants.
· Participate in monthly individual and group clinical supervision.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· KY Adult Certified Peer Support Specialist
· Have lived experience (a current or past diagnosis of mental health, substance use, or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders) and have received or are currently receiving treatment.
· Possess a valid driver’s license and/or effectively able to use transportation independently.
· Strong commitment to the right and the ability of each person with a severe mental illness to live in normal community residences; work in market jobs; and have access to helpful, adequate, competent and continuous supports and services.
· Work Hours: Full-time or part-time hours with flexibility expected to meet the needs of clients and program.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
