The NC Wildlife Resources Commission Mission Statement is to conserve North Carolina’s wildlife resources and their habitats and provide programs and opportunities that allow hunters, anglers, boaters and other outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy wildlife-associated recreation. The Commission is the regulatory agency responsible for the enforcement of N.C. fishing, hunting, trapping and boating laws. The NCWRC employs 700 full-time staff across the state, including wildlife and fisheries biologists and technicians, wildlife law enforcement officers, wildlife educators, communication specialists, customer service, information technology, and administrative professionals.
The NC Wildlife Resources Commission’s Office of Conservation Policy and Analysis is responsible for informing, recommending, and developing statewide public policy and regulations for the agency. This office engages agency constituents and the public and seeks to understand their perspectives on the State's natural resources, wildlife management, and agency function. They then use this qualitative and quantitative data to examine current and future agency programs, policies, and regulations, to improve the chances of successful outcomes. The office is comprised of five main components: Policy Development, Program Analysis and Evaluation (Agency Relevancy), Rulemaking, Diversity & Inclusion, and Social Science.
The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission is seeking applicants for a Social Research Manager I for the Office of Conservation Policy and Analysis. This position is responsible for managing the Social Research Program for the Agency within the Office of Conservation Policy & Analysis. It is responsible for oversight, coordination, dissemination, and integration of social and economic research; performing social and economic research, data analysis, data management, and reporting; providing support to all agency Divisions/Offices to meet social and economic research needs; and integrating social and economic data into larger agency policy and program initiatives.
A Monday-Friday schedule is associated with this position which involves working 40 hours per week. This position is based in the WRC Headquarters in Raleigh, NC (Wake Co.).
