A postdoctoral research fellow position is available in Dr. Jia Yin’s laboratory at the Schepens Eye Research Institute of Mass Eye and Ear. We seek highly motivated and independent scholars to work in areas of ocular chemical injury, corneal angiogenesis, and regeneration. The ideal candidates should have experiences in corneal research, ocular injury, tissue hypoxia, angiogenesis, and regenerative medicine. Approaches to be used include rabbit and rodent ocular surgery/procedure, clinical examination and imaging of rabbit and rodent eyes, molecular and pharmacological manipulation, immunohistochemical analysis, PCR, Western blotting, flow cytometry, and others. Primary responsibilities include designing and implementing in vitro and in vivo experiments; data analysis and data presentation; manuscript and grant/fellowship writing; communication and coordination with collaborators.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Requires a Masters and/or Ph.D in their field of specialty. 1 to 5 years experience preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
PhD in neuroscience, molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, visual science, or related science majors is required. Previous experiences in eye research (anterior segment), peripheral nervous system, wound healing, or angiogenesis are preferred. MDs with prior basic research experience will be considered, those without are not candidates for this position.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Lab setting.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possible lifting of 10 to 20 lbs., depending on nature of chosen project(s).
