We are a boutique, low volume hospital in the quirky, friendly Rose Park in Long Beach three blocks from the Beach on Retro Row--among boutiques and restaurants. We are privately owned and opposite of corporate culture. We build trustworthy long-term relationships with locals and their four- legged companions and family, emphasizing preventive medicine educating pet parents on nutrition, behavioral modification, avoidance of risks, diagnosing maladies and managing them effectively and compassionately by Western conventional, as well as complementary methods.
We are seeking a skilled, professional and flexible veterinary technician / assistant/ receptionist--with at least 3 years of hands-on experience, who enjoys people, practice of gentle comprehensive medicine, treating patients with patience and educating clients.
We perform few surgeries, but when we do we practice very careful anesthesia with comprehensive monitoring- pulse oximetry, end tidal CO2, use continuous rate Infusions (CRIs) and aggressive analgesia.
If you are a veterinary technician/ assistant who likes people and animals, is organized, is comfortable assessing and triaging patients, getting history and vitals, administering vaccines and treatments such as SQ and IV fluids, taking and developing X-rays, assisting with induction and monitoring anesthesia, assisting in surgery, maintaining an aseptic environment, who enjoys gentle veterinary medicine, solving medical puzzles and alleviating discomfort and pain, please consider applying.
Certification / registration aren't a priority for us-experience, dependability, maturity and flexibility are.
As a member of a very small team, a portion of your days will include communicating on the phone or by text, authorizing prescriptions, medical record keeping, admitting and discharging patients, and coordinating specialists.
If you enjoy people, pets and medicine and improving animal lives, consider checking us out to see if we make a good fit by scheduling a paid 4-8 hour *working interview*.
Cheers, and thanks for your time.
