JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Under the guided supervision of both the Operations Manager and Project Manager, the Land Survey Party Chief is responsible for measuring and marking property boundaries, performing construction staking, and performing field collection of topographic survey data. The incumbent must possess basic knowledge of fundamental surveying, mathematic, and applied science of land surveying practices and techniques, including, but not limited to: methods of precise survey measuring, uses and adjustment of precision surveying instruments, mapping and drafting techniques, photogrammetric mapping procedures, principles and practices of boundary determination, land title research and surveying, methods and terminology used in searching for land titles and factors involved in determining ownership of property, monumentation of facilities and the planning, design and construction and right of way procedures and policies as they relate to surveys. The incumbent must be able to perform: less complex field and office surveying work; operate precise surveying instruments (traditional and modern surveying techniques) resulting in precise and accurate survey measurements; make and interpret the less difficult survey calculations; research, analyze, check and adjust survey data; research and compile evidence and documentation for boundary determination; establish and maintain friendly, business-like relations with those contacted in the course of the work and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for operating, checking and performing basic field adjustments on Total station, network RTK, RTK base and rover, static GNSS, laser scanner, drone, survey rods, tripods, and tribrachs.
2. Professionally interact over the phone, via email, and in-person with all Bedrock clients, documenting all project notes in the Ajera system
3. Continually upgrade professional skillset through company-provided training and other outside learning opportunities
4. Keep equipment calibrated and in good working order
5. Maintain assigned vehicle
6. Understand scope of work and making all necessary measurements and observations to meet the scope
7. Document clear and understandable field notes that conveys all necessary field information about a job
8. Basic AutoCAD linework when appropriate

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Perform special projects upon request.
2. Monitor phone calls and e-mails, and respond within 24 hours.
3. Perform other duties as assigned.

FORMAL EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in related field preferred
