LAW FIRM CONTROLLER
Top Plaintiff Texas Law Firm seeks a CPA/Controller. This position reports directly to the owner/founder of the firm and will interact closely with managing attorneys. The Controller will be responsible for performing day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, and various other accounting functions. Job Summary:
- Responsible for the preparation, review, and analysis of financial reports to summarize and forecast the company’s financial status.
- Produce and manage balance sheets and analyze future earnings and expenses.
- Management of accounting, auditing, and budgeting within the organization.
- Perform regular, detailed audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents and expenditures.
- Oversee ledger reconciliation and manage accounts payable/receivables and client settlement disbursements.
- Reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances.
- Monitor bookkeeping activities regularly.
- Establish sound accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with and prepare reports according to applicable government regulations.
- Use accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports.
- Manage Law Firm Insurance coverage and 401K benefits.
- Stay abreast of industry developments and changes in regulations.
Education, Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA certification required
- Minimum five years full cycle accounting experience in a corporate or law firm environment
