Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all medical operations within the designated group home.
- Ensure the proper administration of medication and adhere to medical regimens prescribed by physicians in accordance with OPWDD policies and procedures.
- Maintain 24/7 availability per OPWDD regulations, promptly responding to all calls within 15 minutes to provide triage and guidance to staff.
- Administer First Aid and emergency care as necessary.
- Supervise and support unlicensed direct care staff in carrying out nursing tasks and responsibilities, including documentation for AMAP certification.
- Develop individualized nursing service plans for consumers requiring medical care, including medication administration for diagnosed conditions. Regularly update these plans, at least annually or in case of significant changes in the consumer's condition.
Requirements:
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in New York State.
- Valid and clean NYS Driver’s License
- Previous OPWDD experience preferred
- Position also requires proficient computer skills, preferably knowledge of Microsoft Office.
