Accounting Manager
We are looking for an Accounting Manager with manufacturing experience to help oversee our financial operations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, and internal controls. You will be instrumental in driving efficiency, transparency, and accuracy across our finance department.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking an enthusiastic Accounting Manager to join our PSW Group team in the Chicagoland area. Other key responsibilities will be to:
- Provide guidance, support, and training to a team of junior accountants to ensure engagement and professional development.
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close processes, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data.
- Manage the preparation and analysis of financial statements, reports, and budgets, providing insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance and mitigating financial risks.
- Coordinate external audits and tax filings, liaising with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies to facilitate smooth and timely completion of audits and compliance filings.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Finance, Operations, and Human Resources to support business initiatives, resolve accounting-related issues, and drive process improvements.
- Stay abreast of accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, proactively identifying opportunities for enhancements to financial processes, systems, and reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation preferred.
- Proven experience in accounting roles, with progressive experience in financial reporting, internal controls, and team management.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial principles, and regulatory requirements, with the ability to interpret and apply complex accounting standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and analysis.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing competing priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of professionalism and quality.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Results-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Deep understanding of CRM systems and best practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Basic logistic knowledge will be a plus.
- ERP system or Salesforce experience is preferred.
