M-Th 6:30am-4pm, F 6:30am-12pm - Chemistry Lab Assistant in Capitol Heights
Job Summary:
Local metal finishing facility has an immediate opening for a qualified Chemistry Lab Assistant. This position will be a direct report to the Chemist and will perform the day-to-day chemical analysis of all the cleaning and plating process tanks.

- General adherence to all laboratory health and safety guidelines as well as the company code of ethics.
- Adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures on file as it relates to the lab.
- Adherence to all applicable company policies and guidelines.
- Adherence to all federal and/or local regulations as applicable.
- Requires minimal supervision, acts independently within guidelines, manages multiple tasks with accuracy/efficiency. Proactively solves problems.
- Meets productivity standards, assumes responsibility for completion of scheduled tests including required analysis, test logs and other miscellaneous forms. Consistently exceeds departmental productivity, looks/asks for new responsibilities.
- Performs, evaluates and documents daily/periodic lab equipment preventative maintenance per operating procedures.
- Thoroughly evaluates and takes appropriate action to ensure accurate results reporting according to written guidelines and good laboratory practice.
- Complies with critical lab policies by ensuring complete and accurate documentation and timely results reporting.
- All Local, State and Federal mandated reporting requirements.
Key Job Responsibilities (Specific):
- Maintain and add chemicals to all cleaning and plating baths per company standards.
- Maintain adequate submersion capability of all baths per level indicators.
- Addition of metal anodes in baths as required.
- New bath make-up per turn-over schedule and/or analysis results.
- Perform any and all routine lab analysis.
- Perform record keeping per NADCAP Certification Requirement.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Some college in Chemistry, or experience in a manufacturing environment
- Prior experience in the Electroplating or Printed Circuit Board industry preferred
- Knowledge of and the ability to utilize Microsoft Office required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
