This position prepares food for guests at a golf clubhouse and performs kitchen operations activities in accordance with menu standards, facility practices, and state and local food safety requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workstation including equipment, tables, shelves, and floors
- Store food properly and monitor the age and condition of the food products in order to maintain the highestquality
- Prepare all food items according to recipe standards and guest specifications, and inspect the food quality forconsistency
- Prepare daily requisitions for supplies and food items for production
- Minimize waste to ensure cost control
- Prepare all orders in a timely manner by maintaining a properly stocked and clean workspace and meeting allprep time demands
- Perform kitchen operation ensuring proper use and cleaning of equipment, utensils, dishes, pot/pans, andstorage areas. Keep work areas clean and sanitary. Ensure food equipment is in good working order and report any needed repairs to supervisor
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude with both coworkers and guests
- Follow all procedures and policies set forth by the FPDDC, DuPage Golf and Health Department for all healthand safety regulations
- Perform all opening and closing tasks
- Perform other duties as required
Education and Experience Required
Related Experience: Six (6) months experience as a cook in high-volume kitchen environment preferred, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Minimum Qualifications, special training or other license, certifications, etc.: Must be 18 years of age at hire, ability to obtain Illinois Food Handler Training and Certification within 30 days of employment.
Schedule and Availability: Availability to work should include opening and closing shifts, weekends and holidays, based on customer traffic and business needs
Knowledge Of: Knowledge of sanitation standards and food health safety procedures.
Skills In: Basic to Advanced knife skills, frying, sauteing, baking, and grilling. Ability to understand and communicate English to read and expedite recipes. Knowledge of kitchen equipment such as stove, broilers, ovens, etc. Ability to work the various kitchen stations
