Blue Sea Educational Consulting is a unique company comprised of a Professional Collaborative, bringing together diverse professions such as education, psychology, social work, behavior intervention, speech, occupational and physical therapies, and the law. We currently have a need for Special Education Educators with experience in behavior management, curriculum development, data collection and ongoing progress monitoring to provide services to students K-12 and their families.
We currently serve over 75 school districts across Long Island. This creates ample opportunities for our contracted providers to take on a flexible case load that may reflect full-time, part-time, or individual case load opportunities starting in the summer and migrating into the fall.
Position Description
- Assist students in acquiring skills in the areas of executive functioning, behavior management, coping skills, social skills, activities of daily living, and communication, as outlined within the student's IEP (Individualized Education Plan)
- Develop and implement interventions that teach new skills and/or reduce interfering behaviors
- Conduct on-going evaluations of the effectiveness of the intervention, with modification made as necessary to maintain and/or increase both the effectiveness and the efficiency of the intervention
- Utilize evidence-based, safe & appropriate handling, guiding and prompting procedures
- Collaboration with all treatment team members including outside professionals, and other stakeholders
- Establish and scheduling work hours within compliance of student’s individualized education plan
- Develop and submit quarterly and annual progress reports as per the timeline set forth per Local Educational Agency (LEA)
- Maintain student confidentiality and dignity
- Ensure that all student data is filed/stored properly
- Attend relevant CSE meetings
Requirements
- Master's Degree
- Experience working with students with disabilities
- Experience managing behaviors

Status: 1099 (Independent Contractor)

Pay: $40.00 - $55.00 per hour
