JOB SUMMARY
The Cardiology Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner practices under the direct supervision of the supervising physician and is responsible for assisting with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations within the outpatient and/or inpatient setting. This position will also educate patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments; may also conduct physicals, order tests and serve as a patient's healthcare provider.
We are an independently-owned Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology practice in Cedarhurst, NY seeking a Full Time or Part-Time Physician's Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to grow with us in our expanding practice.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
- Collaborates with the physician in overseeing and coordinating the multidisciplinary care delivered to all patients to optimize quality patient care.
- Serve as physician extender in the clinic setting
- Evaluate patients in the clinic setting for routine outpatient cardiovascular care
- Document evaluations in a timely manner
- Order medications and tests as per guidelines and protocols
- Follow-up on tests and consults
- Schedule clinical studies as per guidelines and protocols
- Coordinate referrals/consults
- Handle messages, results, EMR documentation, telephone encounters and surgical risk assessments as needed within scope of practice and as directed by the supervising physician
- Reviews patient medical charts to assist physician with diagnosis, treatment and care management.
- Makes appropriate patient referrals as necessary.
- Perform stress testing/stress echo using exercise protocols
- Monitors guidelines for the management of care and for ensuring that the services are delivered in compliance with the established guidelines.
- Provides care education to patients and families.
- Provides evidence-based and compassionate care to all patients as assigned to improve patient outcomes and increase patient satisfaction scores.
- Maintains a collaborative environment with providers, clinical staff, and support staff.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
- May be required to perform patient care duties beyond regular schedule based on coverage needs of the office.

Pay: $65.00 - $75.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
