Job Summary
Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. This position is physically challenging, requiring upper body strength and stamina.
Scope
Performs a variety of duties related to building and mechanical systems maintenance using hand and power tools, climbing, repairing circuit breakers, HVAC, plumbing and alarms system among other general grounds upkeep duties. The successful candidate must be able to perform tasks such as repair a bandsaw, stripe a parking lot, help repair a commercial HVAC system, unclog a sandblasting tool, and change a light bulb. We also require a professional attitude, a practical mind and great attention to detail. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and responsibly observe all health and safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair machinery, including press brakes, laser cutters, punch presses, and other CNCs.
- Regularly check buildings, and mechanical, plumbing and other systems to ensure they function properly and meet health and safety standards.
- Regularly repair commercial tools – such as band saws, sandblasters, industrial drills, generators, etc.
- Perform maintenance of electrical systems, including replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels, assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration, manufacturing machinery, and any other systems which need setup or maintenance
- Inspect heating and plumbing systems and perform manual repairs when necessary
- Fix locks, replace windows, inspect alarms, fix HVAC issues, perform general carpentry tasks, etc. as needed.
- Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.
- Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to fabricate products.
- Ability to stand for 10 to 12 hours per day
- Attention to detail and pride in work are critical
- Must be a team player and willing to perform tasks that may not be in a particular job description, take initiative when appropriate, and listen and learn from constructive criticism.
