Napa Humane (Humane Society of Napa County & SPCA) seeks a compassionate, enthusiastic licensed Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team as a Part-Time or Relief RVT, working in our high volume, high quality, low cost Spay/Neuter Clinic serving companion animals in the Napa Valley. Ours is a consistently fast-paced environment with well-defined daily duties, yet no two days are alike in our Clinic - keeping the work interesting and the camaraderie of our team strong. We value a can-do, cooperative, and collaborative attitude to help make our Clinic run as efficiently as possible.
Responsible for:
Supervising the intake and release of all Clinic patients.
Expediting the daily surgery caseload and ensuring consistent and effective delivery of surgical, diagnostic, and vaccination services.
Preparing animals for surgery and monitoring animals under anesthesia.
Overseeing the monitoring of animals recovering from surgery.
Assisting veterinarians as necessary by providing support during surgery including: Maintaining necessary surgical and treatment records and accurate control of pharmaceuticals.
Maintaining an adequate inventory of surgical and related supplies.
Supervising and supporting the volunteers to ensure the overall cleanliness of the surgical room and animal care facilities.
The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, abilities, and attributes:
Licensed RVT, preferably with experience in a veterinary clinic setting, but newly licensed RVTs please apply!
Compassion for animals and their people.
Ability to provide leadership, supervision, and direction and contribute to effective teamwork.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing with the public, fellow employees, and volunteers.
Computer skills required, specifically on a PC platform working with Microsoft Office products; willingness and ability to learn patient/client management software. Ability to multi-task.
This is a non-exempt position based in Napa, California. Our Clinic is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Submitted information will be carefully reviewed and the most qualified applicants will be contacted.'
