McCormick Paints is looking for a Part-Time Spray Repair Technician. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing spray machine equipment for our customers. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime for our clients.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Customer Equipment Maintenance and Repair
- Perform regular maintenance and inspections of customer and rental spray & pressure washing machines to ensure they are operating efficiently.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and failures.
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled to prevent equipment breakdowns.
- Calibrate equipment to ensure proper functioning and accuracy.
- Perform repairs on paint shaker equipment at Store locations.
Customer Service
- Prepare estimates as needed.
- Provide technical support and training to customers on the proper use and maintenance of spray machines.
- Assist customers in developing and updating maintenance procedures and protocols.
Inventory
- Place orders for repair parts directly with vendors.
- Fill repair part orders for daily Store orders.
Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work conducted on customer equipment, including parts used, labor hours, and equipment performance.
- Update maintenance logs, service reports, and other documentation as required.
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency for our customers.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to spray machine equipment.
Team Collaboration
- Assist Store Employees & Sales Representatives with equipment sales, events and product demonstrations.
- Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues to foster a collaborative environment.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to collective problem-solving efforts.
- Work on assigned projects to support the overall objectives of the Spray department.
Health and Safety
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a safe working environment by following best practices and conducting regular safety checks.
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in regular safety trainings.
Housekeeping
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that equipment and workspaces are kept in optimal condition.
- Participate in regular cleaning and maintenance activities to support overall lab hygiene and operational efficiency.
- Inspect equipment regularly to identify and report any maintenance needs or issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of mechanical repair experience
- Technical training or certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance, preferred.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Basic welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to travel.
PHSYICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and parts (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to stand, walk, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions (hot, cold, noisy).
