Position Description: The Manager of Building and Grounds performs the maintenance of the church buildings and surrounding grounds including facilities for both Little Blessings Christian Preschool and the Christian Food Pantry. This is a “hands-on” position requiring a skilled person who will do maintenance and repairs and has the responsibly to manage church resources that support the mission and ministries of North Lake.
Accountability:
The Manager of Buildings and Grounds is directly responsible to the Church Administrator as the immediate supervisor.

Responsibilities and Duties:
The Manager of Building and Grounds is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of church buildings, the grounds and all the maintenance of equipment. This is a “hands-on” position which includes the following:
- Conduct maintenance of key facility systems such as HVAC, irrigation, plumbing, fire system, and electric in participation with outside vendors.
· Responsible to supervise all hired building contractors to assure job quality and completion, that they are done in a safe, timely, wise, and fiscally prudent manner according to the contract
and in the least disruptive manner.
- The manager is responsible for physical security, which includes maintaining a key roster and providing keys to those as approved by the Church Administrator.
- The manager must provide the administrator with a yearly budget, which will include projected operating costs, remodeling and building costs.
· Maintain instructions, maintenance contracts, warranties and servicing
information for all church owned equipment
· Responsible to supervise all hired building contractors to assure job quality and completion, that they are done in a safe, timely, wise, and fiscally prudent manner according to the contract
and in the least disruptive manner.
· Ensure that all building contractors are licensed and bonded. Coordinate with church
insurance policies to ensure that church assets are protected.
· Assist with church events to open/close the facility and ensure that all facility services are optimal
· Must be able to direct and assist the Custodian to provide support for setups prior to along with cleaning after events.
· Other duties as assigned.
Competencies and Expectations:
· Building/construction experience preferred
· Proven “handyman” experience in overseeing building operations and landscaping
· Ability to fully embrace the vision, values, and statement of faith of North Lake.

· Possess the ability to use appropriate judgment, discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality.

· Experience in managing employee(s) and conducting evaluations required.
· Willingness to respond to critical situations after hours.
· Be able to assist with custodial tasks as required.
· Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Education & Experience:
· Minimum of 3 years commensurate experience in related building trades as plumbing, electric, carpentry, HVAC to name a few.
· Computer skills for office automation (Word, Excel) preferred
· Management experience preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $47,000.00 - $53,000.00 per year
