Fueling Brains is passionate about moving practice forward through strong professional development, and as such, provides regular, in-house professional development courses in Education programs and practices. We are currently looking for an experienced Center Director to join our team.
This position plays a key role in the Public Private Partnership between a local school district and Fueling Brains. The incumbent will continuously collaborate with the Early Childhood Department in the school district to recruit, oversee, support, coach, and retain teachers at the academy. The Director will partner with the designated school district faculty appraiser to uphold expectations for instructional planning & delivery, classroom management, professional responsibilities, required of District employee and Fueling Brains Academy staff.

It is the responsibility of the Center Director to work effectively within the Leadership Team to efficiently communicate and implement the Fueling Brains and the school district's philosophy, policies, and procedures by encouraging open communication between all stakeholders.
Primary Purpose
To successfully manage the instruction and daily operations of the Fueling Brains Academy within the guidelines and requirements outlined by the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS), and Fueling Brains and the school district partnership.
Role & Responsibilities
Instructional Management:
- Maintain, at all times, high quality childcare standards based on developmentally appropriate practices.
Personnel Management:
- Supervise all staff members of the childcare center, including substitute staff.
- Oversee hiring process and orientation for all new staff.
- Provide accurate and meaningful annual performance evaluations for all childcare staff
Management of Fiscal, Administrative, and Facilities Functions:
- Ensure that the program is cost effective and funds are managed prudently.
- Oversee the day to day functions of the childcare center and manage staff.
- Assure consistent compliance with all Texas DFPS Minimum Standards, including maintenance of annual fire, health, and other inspections.
- Follow all rules, regulations, and policies of the school district and follow directives from supervisors
Professional Growth and Development:
- Attend professional development seminars to maintain an understanding of the current best practices of curriculum and administrative functions of child development programs.
- Oversee the training and professional development of all childcare staff.
School or Community Relations:
- Articulate the center’s mission to employees and other stakeholders and solicit support in realizing the mission.
- Use appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.
- Promote a positive, caring climate for learning for staff, students, and parents.
- Deal sensitively and fairly with persons from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Successfully advances Fueling Brains and district initiatives
Experience and Qualifications
Education/Certification:
- Bachelors Degree in Educational Administration preferred.
- Must be able to get certified as a “Director” of a childcare center per the Texas Department of Family & Protective Services.
- Experience in an administration role in an elementary or early learning center/public educational setting in the state of Texas – minimum 3-5 years.
Authorization to work for any employer in the United States and a valid Driver's License are requirements for the role.
