About the Job
Cardiovascular Specialists of New England is seeking a motivated Cardiology Nurse Device Technician. You will provide assessment and programming of implantable pacemakers and defibrillators and troubleshoot complex arrhythmias. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiology nursing, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will report directly to the supervising physician.
What you'll do:
- Provides assessment and programming of implantable pacemakers and defibrillators by interpreting the technical and physiological functions of various vendor-specific implantable devices
- Provides routine device interrogations, pacing, and sensing threshold testing along with troubleshooting complex arrhythmias
- Completes device evaluations in the cardiology clinic
- Liaison to the cardiology billing and coding staff
- Provides patient education to device and arrhythmia patients, enrolls patients into remote follow-up services, and completes device interrogations from remote follow-up transmissions
- Utilizes critical thinking and the nursing process to anticipate and recognize changes in patient status, taking action to modify the plan of care or to elevate to the care team as necessary
- Coordinates office and procedure scheduling
What you'll need:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in cardiology nursing
- Certification in Cardiac-Vascular Nursing (RN-BC)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Understanding of Pacemakers, ICD's, BiV and Loop recorder devices
- Demonstrated proficiency in performing electrocardiograms (ECGs), interpreting cardiac rhythms, and administering cardiac medications
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and respond quickly to emergent situations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively educate and support patients and their families
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures in the field of electrophysiology
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Positive attitude, compassion, and empathy towards patients, families, and colleagues.
Work Location
You will work out of the Manchester or Londonderry, New Hampshire office.
Additional Information
Full-time hourly rate of $36-$52 plus medical, dental, and vision.
