Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced residential Assistant Manager to help oversee our Residential program in Brooklyn, NY. The ideal candidate for this role will have two years or more experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, have a flexible schedule and ready to lead a dynamic team of Direct Support Professionals. This is a FULL-TIME position and you must be willing to work weekends
Job Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Residence Manager the Assistant Manager will :

Assist in hiring and training all direct support professionals.

Provide ongoing supervision and support to direct support professionals.

Organize and monitor all DSP activities in the program and in the community.
-
Ensure the health and safety of all individuals in the program. Manage emergencies as needed in collaboration with the appropriate parties—i.e., residence nurse, maintenance staff, etc.

Ensure adequate staff coverage of the program to meet safety standards as well as individuals’ needs.

In collaboration with the Residence Manager, monitor overtime (OT) and seek approval to use staff hours beyond what is currently on the program budget. Seek Manager’s approval to work any personal overtime hours.

Work directly with individuals when there is insufficient staff or as necessary for the benefit of the residents.

Communicate with families, care managers and outside entities on a regular basis. Remain responsive to their requests within program capacity.

Monitor services documentation daily in Precision Care to ensure staff is documenting all services properly and clearly. Ensure that any missed data entry is documented within 4-day contemporaneous timeframe to the extent possible. Work with Precision Care Administrator regarding any data exception requests.

Check all billing for accuracy and completeness. Inform Billing Department within appropriate timeframe that billing is ready for submission.

Interact with vendors and suppliers to ensure the program has needed food, supplies, furniture and equipment.

Maintain and conduct discipline with staff as needed.

Be an active participant of the Program Planning Team (PPT).

Qualifications
You are a good fit if you have:

High school diploma, GED, CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant certification) or possess a Direct Support Professional (DSP) certificate from an accredited public or private organization.

Two years experience or more in a lead role such as a Sr. Direct Support Professional or Medical Support Professional.
-
Two years or more work experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.

Excellent written, communication and mathematical skills.
-
Valid NYS driver license preferred but not required.
