The Technical Project Manager (TPM) who oversees the Project Management Office (PMO) is a technical leader with a high degree of knowledge and experience in advanced project management framework processes and methodologies and IT policies and procedures to manage large complex projects. This includes implementing and providing training in associated processes and methodologies. The incumbent manages the lifecycle of IT projects for the Office for Research Information Systems (ORIS) which supports more than 10 critical research enterprise systems used campus-wide. The successful candidate is expected to use portfolio management, project management, and organizational change management frameworks and processes, including managing the intake of new project requests, forecasting timelines, and tracking resource capacity and project prioritization. The TPM manages complex projects of a broad and diverse scope, size, impact, budget and project team size with considerable impact to the campus research community. The Technical Project Manager may need to directly manage projects in addition to overseeing the PMO, putting their knowledge and experience into practice. *Must include cover letter and resume to be considered.

Qualifications

Expert-level understanding and experience in project management, change management, and portfolio management principles, theories, concepts, processes, methodologies, and PMO. (Required)

Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development. Ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language. (Required)

Broad knowledge of technology-related initiatives and an understanding of their impact on the organization. (Required)

Excellent project management skills and project management software skills, including planning, organizing, and managing resources to budget within PPM platforms. Demonstrated competency in selecting and implementing project management methods and techniques. (Required)

Understanding of application development and software development life cycle concepts. (Required)

Experience with overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products at the enterprise level. (Required)

Strong skills and knowledge of methodologies associated with analysis of processes and problems, information flow and architecture. In-depth understanding and skill in process and systems requirement documentation standards, such as Use Case modeling, User Story creations and narrative description. (Required)
