You will inspect purchased materials for conformance to specifications and examine items for defects in materials, work, and damage occurring in transit. This position is responsible for comparing quantity and part number of items received with procurement data and other specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy of order.
Shift/Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 5:00AM-5:30PM (Work 36 hours and get paid for 40!)
Required Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of material procedures.
- Must be able to interact with vendors and customers in a positive and professional manner.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; Must keep warehouse area organized according to layout set up by Materials Supervisor and according to existing 6S Standards.
- Knowledge of safe work habits necessary for departmental staff to perform their duties injury free such as proper lifting techniques and use of company equipment.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced and team-oriented environment, make good judgements, and assist when necessary.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of two to four years of shipping/warehouse experience is desired, but the Candidate will be trained dcand certified on appropriate equipment.
- Experience with computers preferred.
- Experience operating machinery is preferred.
- High school education or GED
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work in a loud and fast paced environment, make good judgements, and assist when necessary.
- Ability to communicate with co-workers and understand written instructions.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals (Must be able to read and understand the U.S. measurement system to 1/32 of an inch.).
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for 10 hours, and regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds (Must be comfortable performing repetitive tasks using arms and hands).
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision,
depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
