Responsibilities:
Ø Assists Physicians with the patient office visits, including rooming patients, obtaining histories, recording vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, height, weight and temperature), and enters information in the patient’s electronic medical record (EMR).
Ø Train and support other staff members as needed.
Ø Perform administrative tasks, including form completion, prescription refills, obtaining authorizations, scheduling appointments and assists in requesting medical records.
Ø Respond to triages from team members and patients.
Ø Compiles and assists in the follow-up of labs, cultures
Ø Work hand in hand with the managers of Billing/Compliance, Office Surgery Suite and the DVL to assure an exceptional patient experience and outcome.
Ø Handle complaints and specific patient requests, making sure that the Practice Administrator is aware of any complaints or issues and what steps are being taken to resolve them.
Ø Troubleshoot emergencies, making sure the Practice Administrator is always informed.
Ø Monitor stock for Medical Supplies and order for Main practice and DVL
Ø Monitor Office Supplies and let designated person know when supplies are needed to be ordered. Remembering at all time that close review of supplies being order must be done to keep cost down.
Ø Work on quality reporting to make sure that patients are returning as they should and that the quality regulations are being met for MIPS and other standards. Practice Administrator and Billing/Compliance Manager must be updated on these measures on a regular basis.
Ø Ensure company’s policies and security requirements are met.
Ø Other related duties
Work Experience Requirements:
Ø Proven work experience within the clerical and well as the clinical side of a medical office.
Ø Experience in the ordering of medical supplies, controlling inventory and costs.
Ø Strong Knowledge of Medent and the EMR, Preferred
Ø Hands on experience in dealing with office machines (fax machines, printers, computers, phones, etc.)
Ø Thorough knowledge of Customer Service, management and basic bookkeeping procedures.
Ø Proficiency in English (oral and written)
Ø Strong Knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel and Word)
Ø Excellent Communication and people skills
Ø Good organizational and multitasking abilities
Ø Problem-solving skills
Educational Requirements:
Ø High School diploma; NYS LPN License and any additional certifications a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.15 - $31.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.00 per week
