As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Engineer to join our team, specifically focusing on composites fabrication within the Diab application center.
Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality throughout the composite fabrication process. This position involves comprehensive responsibilities ranging from certification creation to in-process inspections, electronic supplier database management, and collaboration with CNC and Fabrication, Technical and core finishing departments on quality matters.
Salary: Negotiable, depending upon relevant experience.
Responsibilities:
Certificate of Conformance and Inspection Reports:
· Create and maintain accurate Certificate of Conformance (CoC) documents.
· Generate detailed inspection reports to ensure compliance with specified quality standards.
In-Process Inspections:
· Conduct thorough in-process inspections to verify the quality of components during various stages of fabrication.
3-D Scanning and Dimensional Inspections:
· Utilize 3-D scanning technology for precise dimensional inspections of composite components.
AS9102 First Article Inspections:
· Perform AS9102 First Article Inspections to validate the conformance of initial production runs.
Electronic Supplier Database Management:
· Manage and update the electronic supplier database, ensuring accuracy and completeness of supplier quality records.
Deviation Requests and Scrap Reporting:
· Review and process deviation requests, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
· Collaborate on scrap reporting and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA):
· Contribute to the development and maintenance of PFMEA documents for the fabrication process.
Raising Non-Conformances and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA):
· Identify and document non-conformances promptly.
· Lead RCCA efforts to address root causes and prevent recurrence.
Collaboration with CNC and Fabrication Departments:
· Work closely with CNC and Fabrication departments to address and resolve quality issues.
· Serve as a backup for CNC parts inspection when required.
AS9100 Compliance:
· Ensure compliance with AS9100 standards throughout the fabrication process.
Academic/Education Requirements:
· A bachelor's degree in a quality-related discipline such as Quality Engineering or a related field is preferred. Candidates with degrees in these disciplines will be given strong consideration.
· Relevant Experience: In lieu of a bachelor's degree, candidates may be considered if they possess substantial and demonstrable experience in quality engineering or a related field.
Experience Requirements:
· A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.
· Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and industry-specific standards.
· Certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) or GD&T (e.g., ASME GDTP) is a plus.
· Advanced understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
· Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Proficiency in the use of quality measurement and inspection tools (3-D handheld scanner), as well as Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
· Demonstrable proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products.
· Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
· Critical thinker with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

· Physical Requirements of the position include the ability to push, pull, lift, stack, and carry materials weighing up to 35 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. This position requires standing, sitting, bending, kneeling, squatting, walking, and reaching constantly. Vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
