Our team of cannabis professionals are highly educated, knowledgeable and skilled. We are looking for motivated and energetic individuals to join our team of Dispensing Agents. Our DA's are critical to our operations, so we are seeking candidates who are eager to learn and develop into cannabis professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling customer concerns and questions, as well as performing administrative tasks and responding to any service issues.
Job Duties and Responsibilities shall include but not limited to:
- Full-time or part time hours required; Full time; minimum of 35 hours per week or more than 35 hours per week may be required to meet staffing needs or part time hours 34 hours or less than 34 hours per week may be required to meet staffing needs.
- At all time remain professional and be a positive role model to staff and patients with actions, demeanor, vocabulary, and attitude
- Regular attendance is expected and is considered an essential function; as it is necessary for the efficient operation of the business.
- Be responsible for driving the Chesacanna patient service experience
- Represent Chesacanna in a positive and compliant manner
- Always communicate with sensitivity and respect for patients, staff and visitors
- Provide exceptional service to each patient
- Answer questions and provide patient education on cannabis products and laws
- Ensure products are stocked and in improper bin in drawers
- Required to know and be able to work Security position
- Required to know and be able to work Registration position
- Required to know and be able to work retail sales position
- Required to learn and be proficient in dispensary and retail POS systems
- Checking patient files, making photo ID copies and assisting new patients fill out CPA
- Receive and enter all patient information into the Point of Sale software system and State of Maryland compliance software when required
- Ensure accuracy and compliance in all transactions
- Compassionate and articulate communication with patients about medical cannabis types, methods of delivery, dosage, conditions for which Cannabis may be therapeutic and the interactions of various Cannabis medicines on specific conditions.
- Assess individual patient needs by asking patients questions regarding their medical conditions and symptoms, carefully listening to patient responses, and further clarifying as needed to recommend cannabis medicine might support their conditions
- Drive retail sales and patient retention
- Maintain a safe, clean environment for patients and employees
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Follow all company safety and security standard operating procedures
- DA maintains current knowledge of industry-related news and market trends
- Continue to enhance your knowledge of medical cannabis in how it relates to recommended treatments.
- Participating in cleaning of dispensary, kitchen, bathrooms and restocking consumables (toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap etc.)
- Comply with company cash handling policies, responsible for accuracy of end shift cash drop; responsible for paying any discrepancy found at end shift cash drop
- Community outreach
- Ensure adherence to patient confidentiality guidelines HIPPA as provided in employee training
Education and Skill Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- College degree preferred but not necessary
- Health care or retail experience preferred
- 21 years of age or older
- Able to pass background check
- Must be friendly, outgoing, trustworthy, dependable, and hardworking

- Must be able to provide exemplary customer service and represent the company with pride.
- Maintain a culture of high-quality customer service and patient communication
- Notify manager about any customer or product concerns
- Excellent Leadership, and organizational skills
- Responsible for taking inventory of cannabis products throughout shift and communicating to lead, assistant, or manager for restocking.
- Daily compliance with MMCC policies including but not limited to; state/local regulation compliance, security protocols, access protocols, inventory tracking, dress code, and work schedules.
- Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.
- Experience with cash handling
- Knowledge of Dutchie point of sale systems is a plus
- Cannabis knowledge is necessary, but a desire for continuing education is vital
- Knowledge of cannabis including- structure, products, medicinal uses, delivery methods, desired effects
- Help customers make the right choices by knowing how different methods of cannabis consumption affect our patients differently and suggesting dosage starting points and upward titration for inexperienced patients
- Ability to effectively explain all variations of cannabis products to patients
- Customer Service/Sales Support experience in medical field preferred
- Basic math skills

Working Conditions
- Regularly work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet staffing needs of our retail setting.
- Current driver’s license and dependable transportation.
- Must be able to obtain and keep a MMCC Agent Dispensary Identification Card.
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
- A professional appearance and demeanor
- This position requires frequent sitting, standing, reaching, walking, handling/grasping of products.
- Spend several hours a day viewing a computer screen
- Required to wear Chesacanna branded shirt while working
Preferred Skills/Abilities
- Prior experience working within the medical cannabis industry a plus
- Prior experience working with medical patients a plus
- Prior experience managing inventory
- Healthcare experience, or related certifications and experience preferred, but not necessary
- College degree a plus but not required
