What is a Child Youth Mentor and Direct Support Provider?
A Direct Support Provider is a compassionate individual who builds caring relationships with clients while adhering to PPRS and State of Colorado care guidelines. You may provide various services such as Respite, Homemaker, Community Connector, Mentorship, or Host Home opportunities.
A Child Youth Mentor works closely with families as part of a team, offering a range of services to support children and youth. This may include crisis intervention, collaboration with schools or therapy, and preventing out-of-home placements. As a mentor, you'll establish trust, provide guidance, engage in fun and educational activities, and advocate for the individual's needs.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience with Developmental Disabilities (preferred but not required)
- Professionalism
- Focus on individualized care and support
- Effective communication skills
- Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record (if transportation is involved)
- Clear background screening and reference checks
- Ability to track individual progress through a web-based system
