Summary
The Social Services Director works with clients and mental health professionals to independently make a clinical assessment, certify a diagnosis and recommend treatment for persons with a mental illness.
- Ensures compliance with Illinois Department Public Health (IDPH), Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and Admissions requirements
- Ensures client orientation is completed for each new admission
- Directs the provision of services using psychological rehabilitation and emphasizing wellness, resilience and recovery
- Provides crisis de-escalation and intervention
- Assists in resolving client and family grievances in a timely manner
- Ensures the facilitation of all aspects of a client’s plan of care including assessments and treatment planning, communication with managed care organizations (MCOs) and community-based providers
- Works closely with the interdisciplinary team to provide feedback and maintain communication
- Hires, trains, schedules, directs, evaluates and provides oversight to the social services department, staff, including case managers, case manager assistants and group leaders
Requirements
Illinois licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) or licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC). Two to five years’ clinical experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
