Our advisors take the time to understand the customer's farm, and create a workable strategy to help them achieve their goals.
We are currently seeking a dependable, organized, and hardworking Outside Sales Representative to build relationships with farmers across the Upper Midwest. Representatives must live in the Upper Midwest. This is an on-farm, consultant-first position, with approximately 65-75% of the advisor's time spent in the field working with farmers. Essential Job Tasks:
· Maintain business at existing customers by providing information, assistance and problem solving skills
· Target prospective customers by identifying needs and presenting solutions
· Maintain a team approach by utilizing Seacole’s support and technical personnel and supplier resources
· Focus on customer needs and education first, consultative sales
· Develop relationships with prospects to build trust and confidence
· Enable communication between prospective accounts and support personnel of company to meet customer needs
· Generate proposals and facilitate closing of new business
· Communicate customer requirements within Seacole
· Maintain a team approach with the General Manager, sales team, and Customer Service, to provide on-going support and management of customers
· Develop short and long term strategies for growing business to achieve company objectives, including sales plans and forecasts
· Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of our products, and Seacole’s technical and operational capabilities
Job Requirements & Responsibilities:
· Five (5) years sales experience developing new business in the agricultural marketplace
· Bachelor’s degree in an agricultural field a plus
· Previous experience in agricultural sales strongly preferred
· Ability to think strategically and develop long- and short-term sales plans
· Result-oriented and consistently achieves sales plans
· Self-starter with a “hunter” mentality, yet effective at building lasting relationships
· Team player who can work effectively with the sales and customer service teams
· Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, at all levels of the company
· Thrive out of a home office environment away from corporate headquarters
