Brookhaven Hospital (part of the Brookhaven NeuroRehabilitation Network) is an internationally recognized center for the treatment of individuals with brain injuries.
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for a Monday through Friday 11:00pm- 7:00am shift. This position will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all areas within the confines of the 64 bed facility (including patient rooms, therapy rooms, restrooms, lounge areas, and offices) and those in the community services facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform general maintenance and repair to facility and equipment which may involve electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and mechanical equipment repair or similar
- Ability to inspect and maintain emergency power equipment; inspect and maintain fire alarm system to include testing system, audible alarms, visible alarms (lights) and smoke detectors and record data on appropriate forms as required by state or facility; check condition and readiness of extinguishers monthly; inspect and maintain lighting system throughout facility
- Responsible for buffing and waxing floors
- Disinfection of medical equipment
- Ability to plan and sequence tasks in order to complete all requirements in time allowed, and shift attention when presented with a more urgent task
- Ability to follow instructions given
- Act as back-up for call person in case of emergency, respond timely and appropriately
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience in general facility maintenance
- Electrical, maintenance, and plumbing experience required
- Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License is required
- Must be able to read instructions, manuals and Safety Datasheets
- Must be able to lift approximately 100 pounds, climb ladders, and when required, work in extreme heat and cold environments
- Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, twist, and stand for long periods of time
- Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
