Started by railroad professionals who understand the need for training and knowledge growth, the trainers and developers at Interactive Rail strive to make the training exactly that...INTERACTIVE. We want the students to participate and engage in their training courses. Studies show that proper engagement in training courses leads to better knowledge retention. For the sake of the railroad industry, training organizations must ensure their students retain the information passed on in their training courses for the safety of themselves and those around them.
Role:
The Training Specialist role at Interactive Rail is a title for subject matter experts in their craft. The subject matter for this trainer vacancy is all things related to CFR 213; Track Safety Standards, Track Inspection, and Continuous Welded Rail.
Responsibilities:
This is an training position in which the selected applicant will train railroad employees, contractors, engineers, and the like on topics related to CFR 213. Training may be in a classroom setting, virtual instructor-led on a Teams/Zoom call, or in the field. The Training Specialist may also be called upon to consult on material development, sit in on client meetings, assist in employee development, and conduct training classes related to other fields such as Roadway Worker Protection, Bridge Worker Safety, and other maintenance of way subjects.
Skills:
The selected applicant for this role should have first-hand experience gained from working for a railroad or railroad contractor as well as demonstrate leadership qualities, inter-personal behaviors, adequate amount of technological abilities related to Microsoft Office Suite (excel, word, powerpoint), Adobe Acrobat, and web-based applications.

Compensation:
$60/hour while conducting training
$15/hour during travel
$0.65 1/2 (or current IRS rate) per mile
$60/day per diem
$30/hour for marketing, material development, other non-training duties

This is a part-time position therefore no benefits are provided. Part-time employees work as requested and may make themselves unavailable with notice not affecting the current schedule.
