United Friends School (UFS), established in 1983, is an independent school that serves children in preschool through eighth grade. The part-time position (~20 hours per week) will begin in late August 2024. Our Spanish Teacher should be comfortable teaching a wide range of students, from preschool to 8th grade and be responsible for providing instruction and opportunities for cultural immersion within a small, progressive, Quaker school.

Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for educating students in the Spanish language, culture, and literature.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the curriculum guidelines
- Provide instruction in Spanish language skills including grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation
- Assess student progress through narrative reporting
- Incorporate technology and various teaching methods to enhance learning experiences
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student development and well-being
Experience:
- Previous experience in teaching Spanish at various proficiency levels
- Familiarity with educational best practices and teaching methodologies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning atmosphere
- Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development
- Knowledge of standardized testing procedures

Pay: $20,000.00 - $22,500.00 per year
