Summary of Position
To ascertain that all daily revenues that should have been received by the Hotel is received and properly recorded.
Roles and Responsibilities
Job duties include, although are not limited to:

To prepare and distribute the Daily Revenue Reports to the management team prior to 11.00 am.

To create and post to the General Ledger the Income and Statistics Journal daily.

To audit daily Rooms, Food and Beverage revenue summaries and their supporting reports using the POS and PMS Night Audit reports.

To account for Telephone revenue.
-
To account for Laundry and Valet revenue.
-
To account for Health Club revenue.
-
To account for all other revenues.
-
To audit the daily General Cashier's Daily Receipts Sheet for settlements.
-
To reconcile the credit cards from the PMS to ServeBase and investigate any discrepancies.
-
To check on a daily basis that the batches of all the credit card transactions are delivered by ServeBase and that any rejections are investigated within 24 hours.

To review on a daily basis the Night Managers credit reports:
-
Guests checked out with open paymaster accounts (Guest Ledger)
-
Guests in house with credit limit exceeded (High Balance Report)

Revenue adjustments/allowances
-
To review in detail the revenue adjustments ensuring accuracy and authorization has been obtained for each revenue adjustment item.

To review on a daily basis, paid-outs and allowance vouchers for reasonableness, proper approval and supporting documents.

To review on a daily basis that all registration cards along with the PMS registration card report have been verified by a Front Office Assistant Manager or Night Manager.

To maintain an up to date daily log of all paid outs without two signatures for review by the Assistant Financial Controller weekly.

To ensure that the Guest Ledger, Advanced Deposit Ledger and City Ledger balances to the General Ledgers on a daily basis.

To make spot checks on correct room rates and prices charged.
-
To reconcile daily the housekeeping discrepancy report.
-
To verify supports for complimentary rooms, house use and rate variance reports.
-
To maintain organized files of all audit records.
-
To submit revenue statistics to the Benchmarking organisation.
-
To assist the Assistant Financial Controller by acting as an internal audit revenue inspector.
-
To ensure Department Managers are compliant with Cash, Revenue and Accounts Receivable Corporate Standard Financial Procedures.
-
To assist in the preparation of any ad-hoc analysis or reports as requested by Head Office or the Senior Finance Management.

To undertake cross-training in other areas of accounts to enable career development and to cover during emergencies, sickness and vacations.

To collate, review, and distribute weekly departmental administration telephone exception call reports for valid Department Managers explanations.

To prepare monthly administration departmental expense telephone costing journal.
-
To prepare monthly entertainment checks/comps journal.
-
To ensure that the Guest Ledger, Advanced Deposit Ledger and City Ledger balances to the General Ledger.

To provide Corporate Office with Provisional Revenue statistics by the 1st working day of each month.

To be fully conversant with your departmental LQA standards

Reconcile and address Travel Agent Commissions (For Maybourne Beverly Hills only)
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
-
Previous experience in income auditing or financial analysis, preferably in the hospitality industry.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with experience in auditing revenue streams.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create and maintain complex spreadsheets.

Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues effectively.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the organization.

Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines.

A commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
