Job Title: Tools Department Repair Technician
Reports to: Tools Manager
Department: Warehouse
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
The tool department technician must be able to repair a wide range of equipment, such as small tool engines including power drills, saws, wrenches, riveters, jack hammers and pile drivers. They must know how to disassemble the tools, examine the parts for damage or excessive wear, repair, replace, clean and lubricate the parts, reassemble and test the tools to make sure they are operating correctly.
Essential Functions:
- Disassemble, diagnose issue, repair and reassemble tools
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools
- Perform Basic building maintenance
- Keep records of tool maintenance and parts stock
Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical abilities are required
- Thorough knowledge of tools and tool is required
- Basic welding skills
- Experience with small tool engines and equipment repair that include but are not limited to walk behind saws, tampers, etc.
- Must be safety oriented and can follow safety standards
- Ability to read micrometers and gauges to measure wear on parts and ohmmeters, ammeters and voltmeters to test electrical systems.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment:
This position works in a typical warehouse environment. Pleasant and safe working atmosphere and conditions, which at times may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
Physical Effort:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Standing for long periods may be necessary.
Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00am to
3:30pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
