What does Marco Island Vacation Properties, Inc. expect? This newly created Guest Services management position requires and expects the successful candidate to initially and primarily perform general guest services tasks to ensure 5-star Guest Services for each and every guest hosted by Marco Island Vacation Properties, Inc. Ultimately, the successful candidate will be required and expected to recruit, develop, and manage a Guest Services Team that will exceed guest and rental property owners expectations and experiences at each and every point of contact and engagement.
Some duties, responsibilities, and challenges to be performed. The successful candidate will work closely with and report directly to the Vacation Rental Manager while interacting with our vacation rental guests, rental property owners, vendors, and the Vacation Rental Team. Some of the duties, responsibilities, and challenges that are expected to be performed with this newly created position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Process and review the daily guest arrival report to become familiar with arriving guests and their needs.
- Assure completion of arriving guest documents and final payment of booking charge
- Process and review the daily guest departure report and confirm timely guest departures.
- Receive and respond to incoming telephone calls, voicemail messages, text messages, emails, or walk-in guest needs and inquires.
- Provide and assist with reception desk services and duties.
- Coordinate and conduct the guest check-in and guest check-out process.
- Perform or assist with other vacation rental related services or issues as needed and as directed by the Vacation Rental Manager and/or the Vacation Rental Team.
- Recruit, develop, and manage a 5-star Guest Services Team.
What skills are required? The successful candidate must be well-organized, detail-oriented, and truly a self-starter who performs work-related tasks enthusiastically and with little or no direction. The successful candidate must also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and must be proficient with understanding and using office computer software and on all forms of devices. Lastly, the ability to stand, sit, and walk for an extended period of time is required, as well as the ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and twist, reach overhead and below the waist, and push, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds.
What level of education and experience is acceptable? Ideally an Associate Degree in Hospitality or Business Administration and 1-2 years of hotel, resort, or vacation rental management is preferred, however, several years of recent, continuous, and successful customer service management experience will be considered and may be acceptable.
